We had a great turn out and really got our names out in the South Lyon Area community! Symantec has released a product that is problematic in more then one way. The Symantec line of products has been know for its firewall problems and these problems continue to haunt the new 2007 product releases. The Nortons Internet Security Suite has been the main problem for Driven Technology, blocking customers email, applications, and utilities. When this product is installed or update, Driven Technology has seen problems arise in the ability to complete the usually daily tasks. Customers call and complain that they are not able to access their email, internet, and other applications. The first question in this situation has been, "Do you have Norton's Internet Security?" The majority of the time, our customers answer that they infact do have a Nortons product installed. From my understanding, the company that created this software is no longer supporting Rapid Fire and Driven Technology has the knowledge base to work on these systems. When contacted at 8PM in the evening by Papa Romanos, We were onsite within 12 hours. The system running was Rapid Fire. The customer had no software, no manuals, and needed their system up in running ASAP. Driven Technology ran diagostics and disconvered that the hard drive in one of the machines failed causing the printers to fail and the POS to fail. After installation of a new hard drive, Driven Technology began configuring the Rapid Fire POS system and in a few hours, had Papa Romanos up and running. The printers, IP addresses, Computer names, and other items had to be manually configured. The software needs to be updated and can be updated by downloading windows updates at &lt;a href="http://www.windowsupdate.com"&gt;www.windowsupdate.com&lt;/a&gt; or by downloading the patches at &lt;a href="http://support.microsoft.com/dst2007"&gt;http://support.microsoft.com/dst2007&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The updates are needed for Outlook; Windows Mobile, Vista, 98, XP, 2000, and server. In addition to these software packages, their are many other software programs and systems that need additional updates.
